Dr. Avis Jones-DeWeever, is a Media Commentator, Award-Winning Author, Global Speaker and the Principal of Nouveaux Strategies, a boutique impact-driven research and strategic communications firm dedicated to helping progressive organizations, candidates and institutions acquire and effectively leverage lasting political and economic power.
Formerly, Dr. Avis served as the youngest ever Executive Director of the National Council of Negro Women. She’s also had the honor of being the Keynote Speaker to President Obama’s Inaugural President of the United States’ Young African Leaders Summit and has served as a Featured Speaker before the World Bank. Over the years she’s conducted numerous workshops and trainings on women’s economic empowerment, political representation, leadership and entrepreneurship on behalf of U.S. Embassies across the globe.
